Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor who has appeared in film and on television, and on stage, is most well-known for her role as Teri Joseph, a fiery attorney in the show on Showtime called Soul Food. Contractor who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning 7years old, traveled all over across the globe and lived through various cultures while growing up. She attended boarding school in London between the ages of seven and nine years old, then her family relocated towards Toronto, Canada, where she spent the majority of her early childhood and adulthood. Contractor was a wonderful student in Toronto and was trained to be an expert ballet dancer. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a school of the arts that focuses on theater and dance. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting was going to be her career. She had danced for almost 10 year. After she had completed high school, she won an entire scholarship to University of Toronto. At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She she also double-majored in sociology and psychology. Contractor, who had completed her university degree was invited to audition in an open audition for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the part. The play was well-received for the 92 shows she appeared in. She won the 2002 award for the most outstanding production of the Year, as judged by Canadian critics. She accepted the invitation to join Stratford's conservatory. It is a place that allows only four males and eight females can attend a 20 weeks crash training in classical theater. Contractor got a place in the next season of plays and landed the part of Hermia as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
